IYS Afterschool Programs

The IYS After School Program is intended for High School Students living in Klamath Falls. This program runs on Wednesdays from 4PM-7PM. After School snacks, equipment, and training will be provided. There will be four 7 week sessions starting December 7th and continuing until the end of the school year.

Conservation Club: This program is an introductory program that shadows the IYS Work2Learn crews. Students will learn about equipment safety, fire mitigation, forestry services, and the great outdoors. This program has the opportunity to lead into a part time or full time job after session completion. (15 slots available)

Culinary Club: Students will learn how to work in a kitchen and special culinary techniques needed to work in a restaurant setting. Working alongside special guests and industry professionals, students will grow to become novice chefs. (6 slots available)

Additional Trainings the students in these after school programs will receive includes:

  • Food Handler Cards
  • First Aid/CPR Certification
  • Financial Fitness class
  • Field Trips and site visits
  • And more that can all be listed on a future resume!

IYS will provide snacks, and these programs are free for high school student participants.
