Time: 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM
Place: Mills-Kiwanis Park
Over 20 community partners plan to be at the event to give out prizes, share information about their programs, and give out first doses of COVID-19 shots. Booths will be set up throughout the park as social distancing allows, and masks will be required at the event.
IYS wants to make programs accessible to families in a one stop location where they can get information from other organizations in the community, and have a fun day to enjoy in the park. In years past, IYS has done an annual BBQ, and last year the event was in drive-thru fashion. This year, the event will be a hybrid model of the two, as it will be walk-through only with booths set around the park, and grab-n-go meals available at the end. Social distancing will continue to be enforced, and masks will be required–for those who do not have a mask, they will be available at the beginning of the trail, at the corner of Applegate Ave and Mitchell St.
-School programs such as the county and city school districts, KCC, and Oregon Tech
-CHA and Public Health who will be distributing COVID-19 shots
-YMCA, Ross Ragland, KLCAS, Klamath Open Door, Sanford, Blue Zone Project, OSU Extension Office, WIC & SNAP, Head Start, and the Children’s Museum.
