esignated specifically for Runaway and Homeless Youth in Klamath County. The facility is open 24/7, 365 days a year. This facility is temporary as we search for a forever home that meets the needs of displaced youth throughout the county.
My Friend’s Place offers youth a safe and structured environment to sleep, eat, socialize, recreate, study, and plan for the future with positive adult role models and peers with a focus on trauma informed care and collaborative problem solving. All services are provided regardless of the youth’s gender, culture, ethnicity, income, religious beliefs, social or sexual preferences.
My Friend’s Place works hand-in-hand with a variety of other IYS programs to provide comprehensive support and enable a model of care designed to meet a wide range of needs. These programs, along with collaborative community partners, allow youth to make positive choices that prepare them to become engaged constructively in their communities and society.
IYS will be hosting an open house for the new shelter this Friday, May 30th from 5PM-7PM for partners and supporters. Meet the staff, take a tour, and enjoy some hot dogs & hamburgers with us at 505 N 9th Street.
